Community Programs

Being a good neighbor is part of our mission at American Water. We are dedicated to California and do make sure we show it. We give back where we can by supporting community education, projects and events.

In Sacramento, we sponsored the American River Salmon Festival, an event aimed to educate attendees about the ecosystem of native salmon and other wildlife. We also take part in Sacramento County’s Creek Week, a cleanup effort that improves local creeks, streams and tributaries.

In Rosemead, we participated in Big Fishin’ in the Second District, an event that took underprivileged and at-risk kids on a fishing trip.

The Monterey District is an active community partner in a number of local water conservation projects, such as the rainwater catchment and grey water demonstration site at Carmel Middle School
