Our lives revolve around water. It’s somehow involved in everything we do, everything we use. We are experts in water service and wastewater treatment and service.

In Ohio, we put that knowledge to work for customers every day by treating water from diverse sources – from Lake Erie to the Little Scioto River to local wellfields. At 28 water treatment plants across the state, the processes are tailored to local water resources and community needs.

In Ohio, we serve over 200,000 people in 35 communities, supplying high quality water and wastewater service. We abide by regulations, invest in our vast infrastructure, educate our customers on wise water use, and help out where we can in the cities and towns that we serve.

Because water is such an integral part of life, we take pride in taking care of it.

In Ohio, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio sets the rules and we carefully follow them. Those regulations are what help to ensure everyone is receiving high quality water and wastewater service at a fair price. All increases in service rates are directly related to the cost of providing high quality service and are subject to a public review process and comprehensive review and approval by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.

Ohio American Water follows strict regulations created by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) that help to provide high quality drinking water. Because we work in cooperation with the USEPA to help in the development of national drinking water standards, we are often years ahead of the industry in implementing regulations.

Ohio American Water is committed to delivering high quality water to all of our customers. In Ohio, we conduct over 21,000 tests per year for about 100 potential contaminants, checking drinking water quality at every stage of the water treatment and delivery process.
