Kentucky American Water Awards Environmental Grants

Kentucky American Water has awarded two organizations 2018 American Water Environmental Grants for their efforts to protect and preserve the environment.  Floracliff Nature Sanctuary in Fayette County and the Friends of Stoner Creek in Bourbon County will receive $4,714 and $3,710, respectively.  The announcement helps kick off the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Drinking Water Week 2018, observed this year from May 6 to May 12 with the theme, “Protect the Source.”

Since the grant program’s inception in 2006 in the Commonwealth, Kentucky American Water has awarded more than $195,000 in grant funds to community-based environmental projects that improve, restore or protect the watersheds, surface water and groundwater supplies in our local communities.
