Kentucky American Water will serve as the host site for Lexington-Fayette County’s Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at its 2300 Richmond Road location in Lexington. The event is part of a national effort coordinated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and local law enforcement agencies.
Officers from the Lexington Police Department and the Fayette County Sheriff’s office will be on hand at the event to accept no-longer-needed and expired medications. Participants can simply pull into Kentucky American Water’s front parking lot and hand medications to these officers from their vehicles.
Items that will be accepted on Take Back Day are:
- prescription and over-the-counter pills
- medicated ointments and lotions
- pet medication
Liquids, aerosol cans and needles are not accepted at Take Back Day.
