American Water Charitable Foundation Provides Grant for Millersburg Parks

The American Water Charitable Foundation has provided a $6,341 Keep Communities Flowing Grant award to Artcroft, Inc., in Millersburg, Ky., for a project that will revitalize two local parks with playground equipment, plants
and trees.

The American Water Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created by American Water, the nation’s largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility company.  The Millersburg parks project was one of 11 Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program recipients in 2019, the program’s inaugural year.  Through this new program the foundation provided grants up to $20,000 to support 501(c)(3) organizations, programs and projects that connect to one or more of American Water’s core focus areas of Water and the Environment, Water and Healthy Living, Environmental Education, and Community Sustainability.

Grantees for this program required a local American Water sponsor and were selected based on criteria including clarity of project goals and projected impact, innovation and strength of project, and evidence of community and volunteer engagement.

“We congratulate Artcroft and the City of Millersburg on receiving this grant award, and extend our best wishes as they move forward with this effort to create new places for families to gather and have fun in Millersburg,” said Susan Lancho, external affairs manager for Kentucky American Water, who served as the local American Water sponsor for the
grant application.
