Annual water quality report highlights compliance with federal and state regulations
BEL AIR, Md. (June 13, 2018) – The drinking water treatment and distribution to customers in the Town of Bel Air and parts of Harford County meet and surpass all federal and state regulations water quality. Details of test results, including all substances detected in water can be accessed in Maryland American Water’s water quality report.
Also known as the Consumer Confidence Report, the water quality report compares the quality of water supplied by Maryland American Water against standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that are enforced by the Maryland Department of the Environment.
“Delivering safe, clean, reliable drinking water to our customers is the most important work we do,” said Barry Suits, Maryland American Water president. “Our team of water quality, plant operations and water distribution professionals work to ensure the highest quality water and service.”
Printed copies of the report are also available to customers who do not wish to access it online. Customers can call Maryland American Water’s customer service center at 866-641-2131 to request a hard copy of the report.
By providing two easy ways for customers to receive confirmation that their drinking water meets all federal and state standards for water quality, the company is also working to increase the public’s understanding of the value of water.
“Delivering reliable water service to your tap also requires significant investment, which is why Maryland American Water is securing additional water supply for Bel Air with the construction of a $15 million raw water impoundment,” said Suits.
“We know that an educated customer is one who will place a higher value on this precious resource and who will have a greater tendency to do his or her part in protecting it.”
