You’re in good hands.

We have the people and technologies in place to get the job done right. Missouri American Water is the largest regulated water utility in the state, serving approximately 1.7 million people in about 30 counties. Our team of experts works hard to earn our customers’ trust and satisfaction. In fact, many of our employees are also Missouri American Water customers. We’re also proud to welcome employees from Neosho to the Missouri American Water team.

Plus, we have access to national resources. Our parent company, American Water, is the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the United States, with extensive experience and a strong reputation for leadership, innovation and expertise in water and wastewater services.

Meet our team.

We’ll be hosting an open house on September 29 from 4-6 p.m. at The Lampo Building, 500 East Spring Street in Neosho. There will be a ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m., followed immediately by the open house. Our team will be on hand to discuss information about the services we provide, including our customer portal, MyWater; customer service and billing, infrastructure investments, water quality, community involvement and more.

Learn about our lead service line replacement program.

As part of our Lead Service Line Replacement Program, we’d like to replace lead and certain galvanized water service lines over the course of the next several years. First, we need to know where they are. If you’re a new water service customer of ours, over the next few weeks, we’ll update our online inventory map with information about your service line. If the customer-owned service line material is unknown to us, you can help by visiting missouriamwater.com/leadfacts and reporting your customer-owned service line material online.

About your rates.

As part of the acquisition, customers will transition to the current rates approved for the acquisition by the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC), which are as follows:
Water Rates

  • Fixed Service Charge (based on meter size): For the typical residential customer with a 5/8” meter, the charge would be $13.97 per month.
  • Volumetric Water Usage Charge: $7.77 per 1,000 gallons.
  • All other fees and surcharges are in accordance with Missouri American Water’s tariff approved by the PSC.

Wastewater Rates

  • Fixed Service Charge (based on meter size): For the typical residential customer, the charge would be $23.50 per month.
  • Volumetric Wastewater Charge: $7.85 per 1,000 gallons.
  • All other fees and surcharges are in accordance with Missouri American Water’s tariff approved by the PSC.

Missouri American Water is regulated by the Missouri Public Service Commission, and any future proposed changes in rates will be subject to regulatory review and approval. For more information about rates, visit missouriamwater.com/rates.

About billing.

We will continue to bill you monthly for service. Here’s how the billing transition will work: You will receive your first bill from Missouri American Water for water and wastewater service in October. The first bill may be prorated and will cover water service charges from September 3 through Missouri American Water’s first meter reading in October. You will be billed monthly thereafter.

  • A quick note about your trash bill: Republic Services will now bill you separately for trash services. These charges will no longer appear on your water and wastewater bill.

Important updates about billing:

  • Kiosk at City Hall: The City of Neosho still accepts payments for outstanding water and wastewater bills at the kiosk at City Hall (located at 203 E Main Street in Neosho), but we will not accept payments for water and wastewater service there. We have several convenient payment options, including Auto Pay, paying online on MyWater (amwater.com/mywater), by phone and in person. If you prefer to pay in person, Missouri American Water has agreements with several authorized payment locations across the state. The nearest location to city hall is the Family Market of Neosho located at 201 N Neosho Blvd, Neosho. Visit us online for a complete listing of authorized payment locations.
  • Managing Your Account Online with MyWater: To make it easier for Neosho customers to enroll in MyWater, IF the user ID was available AND the user ID met our security requirements, you will receive an email with your User ID and a link to reset your password. Auto Pay/EFT: If you were previously enrolled in Neosho’s Auto Pay/EFT program, we did not receive customer banking information from your previous utility. As a result, you will need to reenroll in Missouri American Water’s Auto Pay program. You can enroll on MyWater at amwater.com/mywater or by calling our Customer Service Center.

We offer bill assistance programs.

Improvements include replacing aging water mains, lead service line replacements, lift station improvements and wastewater main improvements.
