WHAT: Missouri American Water will be closing a portion of Maguire Street in order to safely work on the installation of a new water main. Customers will be notified via our emergency notification system, and information will be available on our website (www.missouriamwater.com) and our social media pages.
WHEN & WHERE: Beginning Sunday, August 4 at 4:00 am, Maguire Street (Business 13) will be closed at the Intersection of Maguire and Gay Street. All traffic will be detoured to North College Street at Courtland Avenue for the southbound lane and East Market Street for the northbound lane. There will also be a temporary interruption in water service in the immediate area of the construction. This should not last more than two hours.
WHY: Replacing aging water mains ensures reliable water service continues. This project on Gay Street is replacing 1400 feet of 4-inch water main with new 12-inch water main. This project not only improves service reliability, but fire protection as well. The project began in early June, and should be complete by the end of September.
