Boil Water Advisory - LIFTED

New Jersey American Water LIFTS Boil Water Advisory in Mansfield Twp. in Burlington Co.

VOORHEES, NJ (June 16, 2017) – New Jersey American Water has LIFTED the boil water advisory for customers in Mansfield Township/Columbus, Burlington County. Analytical results from bacteriological samples taken from the water system met all state and federal water quality standards.

The advisory was issued as a precautionary measure following a main break that occurred on June 14 off Route 206, underneath Assiscunk Creek.

Customers should flush household pipes, ice makers, water fountains, etc. prior to using for drinking or cooking using these guidelines for flushing:

  • Run all cold water faucets in your home for 3-5 minutes at one time at the highest flow rate that you can without causing splashing or flooding of drains.
  • To flush automatic ice makers, make three batches of ice and discard.
  • Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle.  Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines specified in the owner’s manual.
  • Run drinking water fountains for one minute at the highest flow rate possible.

New Jersey American Water appreciates its customers’ cooperation while it worked to restore normal service to the system.  If customers have any questions, they may call 1-800-272-1325.
