Water Main Replacement Project to Improve Water Quality and Service Reliability
Merrick, NY (March 6, 2018)—New York American Water is investing $950,000 to install new ductile iron water mains along three stretches of road in Roosevelt. The project includes the replacement of approximately 2,300 feet of water mains installed prior to 1925, 4 fire hydrants and 36 service lines. This main replacement project will improve water quality and service reliability for residents and increase water flows for commercial use and firefighting.

The scheduled main replacement project will take place along three different roads and began on February 26, 2018. The project is expected to be completed in approximately six weeks. The replacement project will occur at the following locations within Roosevelt:
Residents should note that sections of the streets where construction is taking place may be closed to traffic during work hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday).
