Merrick, NY (March 13, 2019) —New York American Water will be hosting three water conservation workshops to provide customers with information about New York American Water’s H2O Control conservation program. The expo-style workshops will offer attendees the opportunity to speak with New York American Water representatives and partners about an array of conservation tools and tips. The H2O Control conservation program was designed for New York American Water’s Long Island customers based on customer water use data and survey feedback. New York American Water is committed to providing customers with individualized information to help them reduce their water consumption and, in turn, their water bill.
Workshops will be held in each service area. Customers are encouraged to attend the workshop for their service area. Workshop locations and times, by service area, are:
Service Area 1: Tuesday, March 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Lynbrook High School
Service Area 2 (North Shore): Thursday, March 21 from 6-8 p.m. at Glen Cove Knights of Columbus
Service Area 2 (South Shore): Wednesday, April 3 from 6-8 p.m. at The Merrick Library
“Through analysis of our customers’ water use data and their survey feedback, we know that our customers use significantly more water in the spring and summer months – close to two and half times that of winter consumption. As we approach those high-use months, New York American Water is connecting with our customers to discuss ways they can reduce their water use and save money on their bill,” said Lynda DiMenna, President of New York American Water. “We want to work together with our customers to provide a deeper understanding of their water use, and tools and techniques they can use to control their water use. We encourage our customers to join us at one of the three workshops and discover how they can benefit from the H2O Control conservation program.”
The workshops will include discussions on the need for water conservation and the sustainability of Long Island’s aquifer, the sole source of drinking water. New York American Water and its partners will also talk to customers about the Smart Irrigation Controller Incentive Program, the H2O Control Toolbox and signing up for My Account to access water use and billing information.
