Island Park, NY (November 4, 2019) – New York American Water is investing $400,000 to install new water main along Kent Road in Island Park. The project, scheduled to begin November 4, includes installing 1,000 feet of 8-inch ductile iron main. The project will also replace three fire hydrants and 39 utility-owned service lines.
This main replacement project will take place along Kent Road from Radcliffe Road to Suffolk Rd in Island Park. Work is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete. Final street restoration will be completed when weather permits.
Work will take place between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Residents should note that sections of the street where construction is taking place may be closed to traffic during these working hours. New York American Water will coordinate with residents along Kent Rd to minimize disruptions.
