Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Pennsylvania American Water Customers in Lackawanna County

SCRANTON, PA (April 12, 2017) Pennsylvania American Water customers in Lackawanna County, no longer have to boil their water before use. Acceptable test results were obtained from samples collected on April 10 and 11, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has authorized lifting of the precautionary advisory.

This notice applies to customers in the following areas:

  • Scranton
  • Dunmore
  • Dickson City
  • Throop
  • Olyphant
  • Blakely
  • Peckville
  • Jessup
  • Archbald
  • Old Forge
  • Taylor
  • Clarks Summit
  • Clarks Green
  • Parts of Glenburn Township
  • Parts of Scott Township
  • Parts of South Abington Township

The boil advisory was issued April 8 due to a broken water fitting on a water main along Mill Street in Dunmore.
