'Tis the Season!

This holiday season, American Water was delighted to once again support the Camden Special Services District (CSSD), also known as the "Yellow-Jacket" crew. The CSSD team plays a vital role in the city, providing enhanced cleaning, safety, and hospitality services that help create a welcoming and vibrant community for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

Recognizing the dedication of CSSD staff, American Water employees came together to collect and wrap hundreds of toys for CSSD families, showing its heartfelt gesture of appreciation for those who work tirelessly to make Camden a better place every day.

With an overflow of generosity from our employees, extra toys were also donated to support this year's Camden County Police Department's Winter Wonderland.

Supporting Local Camden Businesses!

From scented candles and beautiful flowers to delicious chocolates, aquatic programs and more, American Water employees got a head start in their holiday shopping! Last month, our company hosted a Buy Camden 1st Holiday Showcase supporting local Camden businesses. We had seven vendors sharing their incredible skills, talents, products, and services with our employees.

The Buy Camden 1st movement supports local businesses and helps them grow by encouraging large corporations and institutions to purchase goods and services from Camden-based businesses whenever possible.

AmerICANs in Action! Month of Service

In September, American Water employees jumped into action for its annual month of service. Giving back to the communities that it serves is vital to American Water. Although employees dedicate numerous hours to volunteer work throughout the year, September is when they organize and participate in expanded initiatives within communities across the company's national footprint.

In Camden, American Water employees were proud to participate in numerous projects throughout the city. Volunteers helped clean up Camden neighborhoods, participated in garden rehabs, filled 200 'to-go' bags to support individuals who may be dealing with domestic violence and so much more.

Remembering 9/11 on the 24th Anniversary

American Water and City of Camden gathered on RCA Pier Park to honor the victims and first responders of the attacks on September 11, 2001. Local officials, alongside Camden's Fire, Police, and EMS personnel, and American Water employee volunteers, installed 2,977 American Flags in remembrance of each life lost on this tragic day.

Events included a brief ceremonial program featuring a wreath dedication, moment of silence, a siren salute, and additional commemorative activities.

The flags were on display for one week, after which they were donated to the Camden County Government Veteran Affairs, where they are used again for events like Veterans Day.
