Kentucky American Water Cuts Ribbon for $19 Million Water Main Extension to Millersburg

Kentucky American Water leadership today joined Millersburg Mayor Julie Hopkins, Bourbon County Judge Executive Mike Williams, State Rep. Matt Koch, State Sen. Steve West and other leaders and project partners at a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate completion of the company’s $19 million, 13-mile water main connecting the company’s existing distribution system in western Bourbon County to Millersburg. 

The event also served as an opportunity to mark the company’s more than 10 years of service to the community.

Kentucky American Water purchased the water and wastewater assets of the City of Millersburg in August 2014, adding 500 water and 300 wastewater customers. Since that time the company has invested approximately $34 million in Bourbon County, including the latest pipeline project. The company has purchased water to meet Millersburg’s water supply needs since 2014. The newly constructed pipeline will enable the company to directly supply water to its Millersburg customers as well as two wholesale customers – Harrison County Water District and Nicholas County Water District.
