Protect Our Watersheds Art Contest

West Virginia American Water is excited to announce our fifth annual Protect Our Watersheds Art Contest that offers a fun and imaginative way to draw children’s attention to the protection and preservation of West Virginia’s watersheds. The contest is open to all students in fourth, fifth and sixth grades within West Virginia American Water's service territoriesWhat’s more, the contest can help supplement the teaching of water curriculum in classrooms. West Virginia American Water also offers watershed protection presentations, which we can tailor for your students to complement the contest. For more information on watershed protection presentations for your classroom, please contact Bradley Harris at

By participating, students will not only learn about the value of our precious water resources, but they also have the chance to win valuable gifts from local bookstores – and earn positive recognition for your school!

For contest rules, guidelines and a sample entry form, please click here. Each student that participates will receive a certificate, so please make sure that the children’s names and contact information are written clearly and legibly on the entry form.  Contest entries must be postmarked by April 15, 2020.
