American Water Celebrates Earth Day 2024
CAMDEN, N.J. – APRIL 22, 2024 – American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., shares tips for customers and the public to make Earth Day every day.
Protecting and conserving our water resources requires a collective effort from the community. Some materials can impact waterways if poured down the drain, flushed down the toilet, or dumped on the ground. This Earth Day, join us and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and treat every day like Earth Day by adopting the tips below:
Join a community cleanup event
- Turn off the water to brush your teeth and shave
- Collect rainwater to use in your garden
- Use reusable water bottles
- Grow an organic garden
- Run full loads of laundry and dishes
For more Earth Day information and resources, visit the EPA website: epa.gov/earthday.
The American Water Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, will announce later this month its 2024 Water and Environment grants, supporting clean water, conservation, environmental education, climate variability and water-based recreation projects. Additional Earth Day events and participation by American Water, its state subsidiaries and employee volunteers will take place across the company’s national footprint during the month of April.
