American Water Executives to Participate in Infrastructure Week 2014

Story, and Mark Strauss, senior vice president of Corporate Strategy and
Business Development, will participate in Infrastructure
Week 2014 events on May 14 in Washington, D.C.
Story will be a speaker for America’s
Infrastructure Opportunity: Bridging the Financing Gap, hosted by
the Bipartisan Policy Center, McGraw Hill Financial and the American
Society of Civil Engineers. The event includes a half-day of interactive
panels and discussions on how government and the private sector can work
together to unlock America’s infrastructure opportunities for greater
economic growth and job creation. Story will provide opening remarks at
the beginning of the event, and also introduce a panel discussion titled
“The Evolving Role of the Federal Government from the Top,” featuring
Senators Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Roy Blunt (R-MO), lead sponsors of
the Partnership to Build America Act.
Strauss will participate in a panel hosted by the Value of Water
Coalition titled, “From
Invisible to Invaluable: Changing the Way We Think About Water
Infrastructure” at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EDT. Panel participants
will discuss the current condition of water infrastructure in the United
States, the consequences of letting these failing systems worsen, and
solutions to meeting the water challenges of today and tomorrow. The

Taking place May 12-16, Infrastructure Week 2014 will explore emerging
solutions, innovative approaches, and best practices being developed
nationwide to modernize aging infrastructure. Daily signature events
organized by steering committee members will focus on major
infrastructure challenges, including freight and goods movement,
passenger transportation, and drinking water and wastewater treatment.
The events will focus on the consequences of inaction and the importance
of interconnected infrastructure that provides a safe, secure, and
