American Water Names Harrisburg Resident as Finance Director for Mid-Atlantic Division

American Water announced today that James Merante has been named
director of financial analysis and decision support for the company’s
Mid-Atlantic Division. Merante is based in Hershey and will oversee all
financial planning, accounting and rates design and support for
operations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.
In this position, Merante will support effective financial planning and
analysis, as well as being involved in business development decisions,
and providing financial expertise to identify and explore strategic
investment alternatives.
Merante previously served as vice president of Operations at FSM Inc., a
media company in Harrisburg, where he led several business functions
including finance, sales, client services, technology and human
resources. Prior to that, he served as vice president of operations and,
previously, as director of finance at online media company ValueClick,
where he managed annual operating and capital budgets and monthly
operating income forecasts.
A resident of Harrisburg, Merante received a bachelor’s degree from
Susquehanna University and is a certified public accountant.
