Pennsylvania American Water Announces Promotion of Senior Manager of Operations

Pennsylvania American Water announced today the promotion of Mark A.
Smith to senior manager of Operations at Pennsylvania American Water for
its Northwest District.
In this role, Smith will manage the operation of the company’s
facilities and personnel for Pennsylvania American Water’s Northwest
District, which includes New Castle, Ellwood City, Butler, Kittanning,
Indiana, Punxsutawney, Clarion, Warren, Kane, Philipsburg, Nittany,
Boggs, Indiana, Koppel, Paint and Elk service areas. He will be based in
the company’s New Castle office.
Smith’s more than 20-year career with Pennsylvania American Water
started in the company’s New Castle/Ellwood District as a distribution
supervisor where he was responsible for maintaining the distribution
system. Prior to joining American Water, he worked at the Pennsylvania
Department of Environmental Resources. Smith received a Bachelor of
Science degree in civil engineering from Youngstown State University. He
is a City of New Castle resident.
