Virginia American Water Releases 2012 Water Quality Reports

Dateline City:
ALEXANDRIA, Va.

Virginia American Water announced today that the annual water quality reports are now posted online for customers in its service districts in Alexandria, Prince William, Eastern, Hopewell and Fort Lee. Annual water quality reports provide important information to customers about their drinking water, including the source of water supply, health information and results of water quality monitoring.

“The 2012 Water Quality Reports show that in all of our service areas, we continue to supply water that meets or surpasses all state and federal water quality regulations – all for about a penny a gallon,” said William R. Walsh, president of Virginia American Water.

Customers can view their 2012 Water Quality Report at the following website addresses:

“Providing high-quality water requires the work of water quality experts, engineers, treatment plant operators and maintenance personnel as well as our continued investment in water infrastructure,” said Walsh. “We hope these water quality reports help our customers better understand current drinking water issues and raise awareness about the need to protect drinking water sources.”

Walsh also encouraged property managers, landlords, schools and other organizations to share the water quality reports with water users at their locations who are not billed customers of Virginia American Water.

In an effort to be more environmentally responsible, Virginia American Water no longer is printing water quality reports. However, customers wishing to have a paper copy can print one directly from the website or receive a printed version by contacting our Customer Service Center at 1-800-452-6863.
