North Royal Street, Alexandria This is an important message from Virginia American Water. As the City of Alexandria prepares to separate the sewer and stormwater system on North Royal Street, Virginia American Water is required to lower the underground water pipes at intersection of North Royal Street and Queen Street, in order to make room for the new storm pipes. Weather permitting, this construction work will start at week of August 27, and plan to finish at end of September. One traffic lane will remain open at all times, and residents will always have access to their homes. Please comply with traffic control and “No Parking” signs that will be posted. Alexandria:Burke Avenue Dear Customer: Virginia American Water is continuing to replace the water main on Burke Ave between Randolph Ave and East Del Ray Ave. Our contractor will change over individual water service lines on Burke Avenue, and will abandon the old water main. Following construction, we will repave the trenches. We estimate that this project will be completed in early September. During construction, one traffic lane will remain open and residents will always have access to their homes. Please comply with traffic control and “No Parking” signs that will be posted, and be aware of workers in the street.
