Your Voice Matters!

Every five years under an 1889 franchise agreement, the Peoria City Council can vote to buy the local water system owned by Illinois American Water, regardless of Illinois American Water not being for sale. On November 26, 2013, the city council voted 8-3 not to purchase the water system. The Peoria City Council is expected to vote again on this matter in 2018.
