Pelican Island - Lakewood This is an important message from New Jersey American Water. New Jersey American Water will be repairing a main in Pelican Island. Weather Permitting, the project will start on Wednesday, December 13th starting at 10 a.m. As a result of these repairs customers is the Pelican Island area may experience NO WATER, LOW PRESSURE, and or DISCOLORED WATER. Repairs are expected to take 4 hours before water service is back to normal. When service is restored, customers may experience cloudy and or discolored water. If your water is discolored, run the cold water only at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes so that it clears before using. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience while repairs are being made.

As a result, of these repairs customers on the following streets will be OUT OF WATER; Birch Lane, Oak Lane, Holly Drive, Redwood Drive. Repairs are expected to take eight to ten hours before water service is back to normal. When service is restored, customers may experience cloudy and or discolored water. Ocean City - Fire Road This is an important message from New Jersey American Water. Our contractor Perna Finnigan, Inc, will be installing a new water main on Tennessee Avenue, Kingston Lane, Caroline Lane, Gilbert Lane, Marshall Lane, Coral Lane, Pine Road and Tabago Lane starting on or about Monday December 4, 2017. You will be notified prior to any scheduled water service interruptions and prior to transferring your service to the new main, by our Contractor or Inspector. During this work period, customers might experience cloudy or discolored water. If your water is discolored, wait until it runs clear before using. This should typically take only a few minutes. Fire Rd, Galloway This is an important message from New Jersey American Water. Our qualified contractor, Pioneer Pipe, has started installing water meter pits in your area. If your meter is located inside your house, our contractor will excavate over the existing water service line outside your house and install a meter pit. This will require a temporary interuption of service. When service is restored, customers may experience cloudy and or discolored water. If your water is discolored, run the cold water only at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes so that it clears before using. After the pit is installed, please call our Customer Service at 1-800-272-1325 and request a move meter to curb. Thank you for your patience while we make this improvement to better serve you.

Shrewsbury, Little Silver New Jersey American Water has LIFTED the boil water advisory that was issued as precautionary measure for 21 customers on Birch and Branch Avenues. Analytical results from bacteriological samples taken from the water system met all state and federal water quality standards. The advisory was issued on November 9 as a precautionary measure following a. leak in a 6-inch main on Birch Avenue. Customers no longer need to boil their water, but they should flush household pipes, ice makers, water fountains, etc. prior to using for drinking or cooking using these guidelines: Run all cold water faucets in your home for 3-5 minutes at one time at the highest flow rate that you can without causing splashing or flooding of drains. To flush automatic ice makers, make three batches of ice and discard. Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines specified in the owner’s manual.
