Northwest:Portage:Emergency Main Repair and Boil Water Advisory2 This is an important message from Indiana American Water. Due to an emergency repair on a water main, customers in: Portage will experience a temporary interruption to their water service. The affected areas are:The 2700 thru 2800 blocks of Belmont St, Elmwood St and Brandt St and the 5400 block of Mulberry Ave and Independence Ave You are receiving this message because you reside in the affected area and a boil water advisory will be in effect. Once repairs are made and water service is restored, customers in the affected area should bring their water to a rolling boil for 3 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses. This boil advisory is being issued in accordance with Indiana regulations. Any time water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in a portion of a community's distribution system, a boil advisory must be issued as a precaution to protect customers in that area.
