Canadian Operations

American Water Canada Corp. is headquartered in Hamilton, Ontario, is a subsidiary of American Water, and has been providing operation and maintenance services in Ontario for 20 years. As a company, we were leaders in the introduction of the concept of public-private partnerships to Canada when an innovative ten-year contract in 1995 was executed for the operation of the City of Hamilton’s water and wastewater systems, among the largest in Canada at the time.

American Water’s Contract Services Group is a leader in the private management of municipal water and wastewater systems. For more than 30 years, communities have turned to us to operate and manage critical components of their infrastructure, and have recognized the ability to utilize public-private partnerships to deliver the highest-quality services to their citizens at the lowest-possible cost.

For 30 years, companies have been turning to American Water’s Contract Services Group to help operate and manage every aspect of the industrial water cycle: water supply, process water, steam, wastewater, residuals, utilities, and the reuse of by-products.

Contract Services

American Water's Contract Services Group, a business unit under the company's American Water Enterprises market-based business subsidiary, offers market-based operation and maintenance (O&M) services in the U.S. and Canada. These services include the delivery of design-build-operate projects and the provision of water and wastewater operations, maintenance, and management services.

The Contract Services Group has been providing these services to clients for more than 30 years. Many of these services are delivered to municipal and regional governmental entities through public-private partnerships (P3), but we also provide similar expertise and services to industrial clients with a wide range of water quality and regulatory compliance needs.
