During a boil water advisory, it is recommended that customers boil water for 3 minutes for any tap water they intend to use for consumption -- such as for drinking, cooking or making ice. This boil advisory is being issued in accordance with Kentucky regulations. Any time water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in any part of a community’s distribution system, a boil advisory must be issued as a precaution to protect customers. Customers in the affected area should bring their water to a rolling boil for 3 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses.
